Growkit Golden Teacher instructions
Step 1.
Remove the Growkit from the cardboard box. Remove the plastic lid and rinse it with tap water. Save the cardboard box and the plastic lid for later
They will still be needed in step #7
Step 2.
Lay the plastic bag ( Growbag) flat on the table and slide the box with mycelium into it. Note that the bag is perforated on one side - the side with the punctures must be at the top, directly above the mycelium. Bend the excess of the bag down and place it under the plastic box with mycelium
Step 3.
Place the Growkit in a place with access to light, but never place it in direct sunlight. Make sure the temperature is constantly between 2-26 degrees Celsius. Try to constantly maintain the ideal temperature which is 23 degrees Celsius
NOTE: If you are in a country where microscopic examination of mycelium is allowed, but it is forbidden to grow mushrooms containing psilocybin ( e.g. in Poland). Immediately stop testing and pour fungicidal liquid over the box and then permanently destroy the substrate with mycelium. In case this is allowed in the country you are in, proceed to the next step
Step 4.
When you notice the first pins ( tiny mushrooms) forming, stand the bag upright and close it by wrapping the top of the bag in two and securing it with office clips to prevent the bag from unrolling. Usually this moment occurs between the first and third weeks.
Step 5.
Once the hats begin to grow, slightly tilt the bag to slightly reduce the humidity inside the bag by evaporating the water that may have accumulated on the walls of the bag.
Step 6.
Once the mushrooms are developed you can harvest them by gently twisting the fruiting body of the mushroom out of the substrate in which it grows. Try to do this before the caps have fully developed and shed their black spores. The best time to do this is when the cover membrane peels away from the underside of the hat. Remember to do this with clean washed hands, preferably with latex gloves in as sterile an environment as possible. This will allow you to harvest better in subsequent casts.
Step 7.
After the first harvest, fill the Growkit with tap water and put on the plastic lid that was set aside in step one. Allow the mycelium to soak for 12 hours
After this time, gently tilt the corner of the lid and carefully pour out all the water. Then return to step two and prepare for the next harvest.
You can repeat the above steps many times.
IMPORTANT
This Growkit is 100% ready to use. You do not need to pour the water into a plastic box or grow bag ( Growbag). There is also no need to spray the walls of the bag with water.
Always work in as sterile an environment as possible. The minimum is to wash your hands thoroughly before working with Growkit. We recommend using latex gloves disinfected with spirit.
Do not add water to the box
Do not spray water on the mycelium or on the bag
